New lesson went online yesterday Horray!. Had to be really quiet while recording it because my brother was a sleep.

Felt a bit strange but we got the lesson done and made some big progress, should have the front-end pretty much done after the next lesson.

We did not touch Javascript in this lesson, it was all about getting the first part of the app together, layouts, helpers CakePHP.. yadda yadda.

All in all I personally think this is a step above any of the other courses,  trying out some new things in cakePHP.. so it’s fun for me too.

Going to hold off on the screenshots today. I”ll have more to show and talk about after lesson 04, it’s starting to get really interesting now.

Lesson 04 will be out before the weekend!!

Hope you had a nice weekend.  Lesson 02 went online a couple of days ago, thanks to everyone who subscribed. Was a real fun lesson. We made some tool-tip pop-ups and did our first interface.  Also looked over the front-end of the Wiki application. It’s pretty much a full scale application this time round folks.  Here are some screenshots of the front-end, every-week I’ll be posting more.

I hope you are well. Just letting everyone know we’ve started recording a new course. Building a web 2.0 style Wiki. It has drag and drop widgets, heaps of Ajax and Javascript.

If you want to give your app interactive features and learn how to use Prototype and Scriptaculous in real world situations then this is the course for you. We are using CakePHP for the backend, but all javascript can be used with just PHP and I’ll show you how.

At the end of the first lesson we talked about elements and the fetch utilities, CSS tricks, Firebug and more. Next lesson will be a Ajax signup form and other goodies, Keeping  a running log of this course on here. I’ll see you guys next week,  stay safe. Update 23rd: Nearly finished folks. The subscribers will get the last video very soon. Might be one or 2 days before it goes on sale though. sorry about the wait! I am working on it.

We only have one lesson to record and the new course will be released.  It’s taken 100’s of hours to get to this point and I’m so excited to record the last lesson.

This is without a doubt the best course I’ve ever produced.  It’s highly detailed, fast paced and from what I’ve heard fun too!

We cover so many things in cakePHP including Behaviors and Components and so much more. We study the Framework first then get stuck into building a CMS.  You will truly see the power of this beast of a Framework.

Thought I’d post something on the blog about where we are at with the new course. I’m on lesson 7 of 9 lessons of Building a complete CMS using CakePHP. The first 5 lessons were a very in-depth and fun look at the Framework itself. With over 20 study guides and much different from anything you will see anywhere else.

This course is going to set a very high bench mark for this years video tutorials. Which is a good thing and gets me excited for the subjects we will tackle this year.

So far only subscribers have been watching the video and I owe many thanks to them for helping me with it. Literally these guys have been taking time out of there days to correct my spelling and spot mistakes and offer advice ect… so thank you.

I’m hoping to have it ready by this time next week, so pop back then for an update on the progress or a new course online.
